The proposed residence for S. Gurmail Singh in Sangojala, Kapurthala captures Hothico’s signature blend of classical formality and modern livability. A symmetrical façade is framed by robust brick piers and softened with cream‑tone plaster, while a grand double‑height portico—supported by four slender, fluted columns—signals the ceremonial entry. Above, a playful, multicolored pyramidal skylight creates an eye‑catching crown and funnels daylight into the core, echoing the vibrant cultural palette of Punjab and giving the otherwise restrained composition a distinctive focal point.

Functionally, the design revolves around a shaded central court that encourages cross‑ventilation and social interaction. Generous balconies wrap the upper level, shaded by pitched green roofs that reference traditional north‑Indian verandahs and provide relief during the monsoon. Full‑height glazing opens living spaces to landscaped gardens, while a low brick-and‑wrought‑iron boundary wall maintains visual connection with the street without compromising security. Roof‑terrace balustrades mirror the rhythmic metalwork below, unifying the composition from plinth to parapet.
